Lewin's Change theory
It is developed by Kurt Lewin, who is considered as father of psychology. He explained the change as 3 stage model before one gets the change to be either accepted or rejected.
Unfreezing-Change-Refreeze model for change.
It has 3 major concepts such as driving forces, restraining forces and equilibrium. if one wants to have a change, driving forces are positive forces which is necessary to make the person prepare for the change by overcoming the restraining forces. Restraining forces are the negative forces which never allows the person for change by overcoming the driving forces. they hide the cahange by making the person to travel in opposite direction.
If the driving and restraining forces were equal, then no change occur as the equilibrium remains the same.
Changes as 3 stages.
Unfreezing- person in this stage is ready to accept the newer one by letting go off the older one.
Change stage- person in this stage moves towards the acceptance of change by change in feelings, thoughts, behaviours etc.
Refeezing- it is the stage where one standardized the accepted change as protocol, to be followed further. If this stage doesn't occur, one may change to the older one at any point of time.
