human nutrition have been asked, what is the healthiest diet for an American or anyone to eat? I should respond there is no one diet that is right for every one and that is somewhat true when I think of all the clinical problems one can have but.....I'm not going to say that. The Mediterranean Diet has shown to be the healthiest diet overall. If you have heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, overweight, underweight, cancers, other immune deficiencies, eating the Mediterranean way has long lasting benefits. Create a shopping list (10-12 food items) and make a 2 day menu for yourself following the Mediterranean Diet?
FIRST DAY:
The breakfast is
Oatmeal with Fruit (peach ) and almonds
The afternoon snack.) is
Half medium cut apple
The lunch is
Green Salad with Spiced Chickpea dressing on it along with
herbs
The evening snack is.
5 thoroughly dried apricots
The dinner is
roast Salmon with herbs, Fennel and basil
SECOND DAY:
The breakfast is
Again can be Oatmeal with banana and almonds
The afternoon snack is.
Two blueberries
The lunch is
Green salad of zucchini with spiced Chickpea.
The evening snack is
3 walnut
2 almonds
Dinner
Half cup cooked tomato with herbs
The grocery list can have walnuts, apricots, chickpeas, carrot,
apples, banana, blueberries, olive oil, barley, paximadia, quinoa,
cucumbers, melons, zucchini,
Clams, chicken thigh, lean red meat, oats, navy beans, pine nuts,
figs ,onions, squash
dill,basil,rosemary,olives,lentils,walnuts,sunflowwe,peas,spinach,shallouts,faro,polenta,tunaricotta.
