Although nursing is a noble profession it demands great level of qualities to deliver quality care in health care sector.

What is one character trait you believe everyone who is a "great nurse" possesses?

Though there are numerous traits required for a nurse to work efficiently, one character trait which stands out among them is "PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS".

Why because

During academic practices of nursing, practicals and theory subjects have ample of hours to work on. However there's nowhere in nursing curriculum provides adequate training or information regarding the problem solving skill that every nurse must have. Hence it is highly important to discuss and highlight.

  1. Identify and define the problem - look at the problem from different perspectives to solve it rather than just focusing on theoretical knowledge.
  2. Analyze the problem - if a conflict occurs break it down in to different parts and it makes easier to solve
  3. Develop various solutions
  4. Analyze and choose best solution
  5. Implement the solution - make a paln of action and move on to solve it in a rational way.
  6. Evaluate the solution - at the end don't forget to evaluate the solution every time you solve one, because reviewing it helps to tackle future chances of arising a problem.
