Collecting subjective data is a key step of nursing health assessment. Obtaining a valid nursing health history requires professional, interpersonal and interviewing skills. Data collection is a communication process. It focuses establishing rapport and a trusting relationship with the client to elicit accurate and meaningful information, gathering information on the clients developmental, phycological, physiological, socio-cultural and spiritual statuses to identify deviations that can be treated with nursing and collaborating interventions or strengths that can be enhanced through nurse - clinet collaboration. Subjective data consist of information elicited and verified only by the client. Interviewing is the means by which subjective date are gathered. This complete health history is performed to collect as much as subjective date about the client as possible. It includes biographic data, resaons for seeking health care, history of present health concern, past health history, family helath history, rewire of body systems for current helath ptoblems, lifestyle and health practices. As a conclusion data Collection is a important step in nursing process. It helps to provide comprehensive nursing care.
