Ageusia is defined as the lack of taste of tongue with no differentiation between bitter, sweet, sour, and salty.
Theare are majorly two cranial nerves that supplies signals to the tongue tissues i.e. chorda tympani nerve which supplies anterior two-thirds of the tongue and glossopharyngeal supplies to the posterior third of the tongue.
The damage to these nerves would lead to ageusia.
