I am going to pick the Front Page of the Newspaper method. The front page of the Newspaper Method is defined as the analytical technique use by public figures to know how their actions might look to the outside world. People generally manipulate their efforts to fit into the society they live in. Furthermore, this model works with the dilemma previously mentioned because public figures should be aware of their course of action; thus, this method helps them to stay away from controversies. As a public figure, one must know that their behavior influences many common people, so rationalizing and manipulating is essential. When analyzing how a given course of action will look, count on the fact that most, if not virtually all, members of the community will lack some or all of the important information about the public official's actions. There's a strong likelihood the information the community receives — particularly if the data comes from a source other than the public official in question, such as the media — will be critical, incomplete, skewed, and perhaps even inaccurate. For a course of action to comfortably pass the front page test, it needs to survive the community's scrutiny even with incomplete or skewed information. I completely agree that these types of dilemmas occur all the time and it is true to what we hear, what we want to hear, and what we want to believe in. Questions that I would ask myself in regards to this method are; was this the right thing to do, who and how does it benefit, and is it fair? Dilemmas are the process of decision making between two desirable options or sometimes even undesirable as well. This method helps work through difficulties because instead of focusing on deciding what's right and wrong, one portrays themselves according to different situations and manipulate their behavior or actions for the same.
Does this only work for public figures? Is their position what makes it work?
In my opinion, this does not only work for public figures but for everyone else as well. Alll the human beings have an inherent tendency to reassess themselves at regular stages based on the feedback they receive from others and also based on thier own development, thinking, peer pressure etc and the situation around them makes them manipulate their actions and feelings and make them fit in the pace they live or work. Hence the front page of the newspaper method is relevant to all the people living in this world and not just the public figures. We all, at some point of time are in constant scrunity and our actions are being watched and words are being heard by others around us. This makes us feel conscious of our actions and words and makes us reassess ourselves and change our actions and words to suit the requirements of the group we are with or with the culture of the organization we work in.
