what other signs commonly seen apart from blepharoptpsis, to define a third cranial nerve palsy
The third cranial nerve palsy which is also known as oculomotor nerve palsy is an eye condition that results from the damage of third cranial nerve in which the individual suffers from the disability to move his or her eye normally. This disability some times become so severe that the patient unable to align normally of their eyes when looking straight to a person. The main cause of a third cranial nerve palsy is due to some vasculitic process. Vascular disorders like diabetes, high blood pressure & hyper tensions basically causes many strokes on the cranial nerves & the nerves goes out ultimately. Some of the major signs of this disease are-1.Blepharoptpsis- In this case the patient suffers an abnormal low-lying upper eyelid margin with the eye in primary gaze. On he left side there is an elevated eyelid crease, and arched eyebrow. 2. Diplopia- The problem of double vision is the ability to see two images of a single object that may be displaced horizontally, vertically or diagonally.3. sometimes the patient suffering from this diseases can move only to the middle when looking inward and cannot move up and down.
