*To understand the technique of breast care.

*To teach the mother regarding the benefits of breast feeding

*Explain the mother about importance of breast care.

*Get co-operation of mother for health teaching.

*Teach the mother regarding breast care.

*Observe for any breast tenderness, cracked nipple and sore nipple.

*Take a bowl of warm water and a clean cloth.

*Dip and squeeze cloth in a warm water and clean the breast by circular motion nipple, areola and the breast respectively.

*Dry it with a clean dry cloth.

*It provides advantages with general health, growth and development.

*It increases immunity of a child.

* It protects the child from many diseases.

*It act as a temporary family planning method.

*Helps the mother to lose weight.

*Improves mother and child bonding.

*CRADLE HOLD

Sit on a chair or on a bed with supportive pillow and rest your foot on any surface. Hold the baby on the lap. Extend your forearm and hand down to the baby's back to support neck, spine and bottom.

*They Cross over hold:

Hold the baby in a cradle hold position and if you are nursing the baby from the right breast use the left hand arm to hold the baby.Rotate her body so the baby directly facing you.

*Football hold:

Position the baby at the side, under the arm. The baby facing you with her nose level with a nipple and feet pointing towards the back rest the arm on a pillow in the lap and support to babies shoulder neck and hand with the hand. Don't push the baby toward the breast so much use the forearm to support for upper back.

*Reclining position:

lie down on the side of bed place several pillows behind the back for support and for the Mother's comfort draw the baby close and cradle head with the hand of bottom arm. If needed a small pillow or folded towel can be kept under the baby head.

These are all the Different techniques for breastfeeding.
