Health teaching plan for the school age child:the school age children are in the growing age , and are exposed to different climates, foods, and other persons etc, and they are more vulnerable for getting sick, and they face other issues like family crises, homelessness, immigration, poverty, and violence which the children suffer both physical and mental health needs so the schoolnurse performs a critical role in providing preventive and screening services, health education etc the nurse role is a) the nurse provides direct care to students, b)the nurse provides leadership for the provision of health service, c) the school nurse provides screening and referral for health conditions, d) thee school nurse promotes a healthy school environment,e) promotes health, f) the nurse serves in a leadership role for a health policies and programs, the nurse does the assessment of health complaints, medication adminstration, and care for students with special health care needs and a system for managing emergencies and urgent situations, amandate health screening programs, verifications of immunizations and infectious disease reporting and identification and management of students chronic health care needs ,the nurse also teaching about the how to tske care of they themselves throught good nutrition, excercise amd hygieneand also help kids with special conditionlike diabetes and leukemia and for the child withstrabismus, and many other condition present in the childern and teaching all the health related aspects to the children, the nurse functions as a leader and coordinator of the school health service team the team may includes school physican( pediatracian) , licensed practical nurse, health aides and school counselors etc
