-Identify which type of case study and briefly discuss about its approach "Advantages of sample survey" and "sampling procedures" (250 words)
-With reference to case study identify the role of the researcher "geographic area" and "financial resources" (250 words)
A.
Advantages of sample survey and samplimg procedures:- Sampling has some advantages over doing a complete count.
1.Saves Time and Cost:- As the size of the
sample is small compared to the population, the time and cost
involved in sample study are much less than complete counts. For
complete counts huge funds are required, and there is always the
problem of finances. A small sample can be studied in a limited
amount of time and the total cost of a sample study is very small.
For a complete count, we need a big team of supervisors and
enumerators who must be trained and paid properly for the work they
do. Thus, a sample study requires less time and less cost.
2.Reliability:- If we collect information about
all the units of a population, the collected information may be
true, however we are never sure about it. We do not know whether
the information is true or is completely false. Thus we cannot say
anything with confidence about the quality of the information, so
we say that reliability is not possible. This is a very important
advantage of sampling. The inference about the population
parameters is possible only when the sample data is collected from
the selected sample.
3.Sample data is also used to check the
accuracy of census data.
4.Organization of convenience: BY collecting data
through samples, it become more convenient to the organisation.
5. Scope of sampling is high. Accuracy of data is high.
ANSWER B.
The role of researcher in geographic area case study research aims to explore and depict a setting with a view to advancing understanding. This note explores the dimensions of case study research in higher education, with special reference to geographical fieldwork. It explores Stake's three categories of case study research: intrinsic, instrumental and collective. It provides guidelines concerning the limits and definitions of case study research, the provision of ‘thick descriptions’, the formulation of good research questions, data collection, analysis and the search for meaning in case study research findings. And the financing area includes that ensuring the financial transactions associated with research activities are captured in an auditable manner. Accounting for research and related activities are in accordance with accounting standards .Geography has been considered a decisive factor in different fields of business-related research. This paper provides some evidence concerning the role of geography on business failure in urban environments. The paper use spatial econometric methodology to evaluate the impact of the geographical location of external economic agents on the probability of business failure. In addition, it is shown that probabilities of business failure for geographically close firms are correlated. A firm-level empirical application based on 3125 industrial small and medium firms (SMEs) located on the Madrid metropolitan area (Spain) confirms that the geographical proximity between firms, external economic agents and transport facilities has a determinant impact on business failure among these companies. This study contributes to gaining a greater understanding of the factors that determine SMEs business failure, highlighting the importance of geographical factors.
