What is Level 5 leadership?
LEVEL 5 LEADERSHIP
The concept of level 5 leadership was created by a business consultant Jim Collins in the year 2001 in a book "Good to Great". It is a researcher study done in a company employees. It is a pyramidal shaped which represents level 1 ,2,3,4 and 5 from down to up.
There are 5 levels of leadership
LEVEL 1:- HIGHLY CAPABLE INDIVIDUAL.
The individual should have good talents and skills for a job.
LEVEL 2:- CONTRIBUTING TEAM MEMBERS.
An individual should use his/her knowledge and skills to help the team to success.
LEVEL 3:- COMPETENT MANAGER.
In this level, it is analysed whether the individual is capable to organize a group effectively to achieve specific goals and objectives.
LEVEL 4:- EFFECTIVE LEADER.
The level analysis about the individual is able to galvanize an organisation to meet performance objective and achieve a vision.
LEVEL 5:- GREAT LEADER.
In this level the individual should have all of the abilities needed for the above 4 levels and along with this the individual should have the unique blend of humanity and greatness too.
HOW TO BECOME A LEVEL 5 LEADER
To become a level 5 leader is not an easy task, it needs more time and efforts. To become this an individual should be passionate towards his/her job and also should keep on trying until he achieve this. It is not necessary that to achieve level 5 the person should try from level 1 to 5, but the capacity matters.
