In what way does a first-level supervisor play an important leadership role in the organization? Give two examples.
Supervisor is a person who is responsible for and oversees the activities within an organization unit of a group of employees engaged in related activities. He is a front-line manager and is responsible for getting non-executive staff to enforce the management's plans and policies. Sometimes a supervisor is also called as a front-line supervisor as he is the first link between the management and the non-executive employees. A supervisor prepare, guide, inspire and control non-executive employees ' work at the organization's operational level. Supervisors are managers at the first level, as they only refer to non-executive employees.
A supervisor's main job is supervision, which is defined as instruction, guidance, monitoring and monitoring of employees while performing their duties within the organization. The word supervision is the combination of two words, that is, supervision where super means above and beyond, and vision means seeing. Supervision thus requires observing workers ' behaviors from above and beyond. Supervisors are management members and therefore carry out the so-called four management functions, namely planning, organizing, directing and controlling, in the front line as well.
We will accept the responsibility to make things happen for the
organization's benefit. Non-executive employees who move to
supervisory positions are to shift their roles from those that
involve just following orders to those that require task
assignments, help others solve problems, and make decisions. They
must become more aware of their role in a complex system of
organizational activities and act accordingly. Working conditions
arrangement — A manager plays an important role in the factory's
physical environment and in organizing the physical resources in
the right place. This means providing staff with sufficient
parking, ventilation, lighting, water installations, etc. His main
responsibility here is to provide the workers with a healthy and
hygienic condition.
Leadership and Guidance-The staff manager under him is a boss. He
helps the workers to work their hardest and inspires them. He also
directs the workers by setting production goals and supplying them
with guidance and recommendations for achieving those goals.
