Workplace bullying is an unfortunate reality in many organizations. In 150 words tell how does this affect the individual and the organization? What legal and ethical consideration should organizations be forewarned of?
Answer- Bullying can be referred as acts or verbal comments that could hurt a person mentally or physically. At workplace, bullying has many negative effects on an individual and the organization. A person may face many psychological and physical health problems due to bullying. He may experience stress, anxiety, panic attacks, high or low blood pressure etc. Bullied workers also have problems while making decisions and their performance is greatly affected. Bullying leads to a sense of isolation and the victim always feels confused and helpless.
Bullying affects the overall performance of the organization. Bullying at workplace results into an unhealthy environment which includes increased stress and decreased productivity and moral. It has become a very serious problem today. All countries have legislation related to workplace violence. All organizations can create anti-bullying policies to report and investigate alleged bullying. There should be a zero tolerance policy against bullying in a company.
