Solutions

Expert Solution

Organizational culture is the way the employees behave in a workplace. It depicts the value that the employees demonstrate through their actions. Organizational culture is not meant only for the senior staff but also to the new hires. It shows how an organization operates in the competitive environment. An organizational culture is greatly influenced by both written code such as regulations, rules and policies and unwritten code as to ‘how’ the things are done. Thus, it is pertinent that an organizational culture is aligned with that of the values and beliefs of the individuals. An ethical person does what is right and does not do things that are punishable.

It is highly important that organizations create and sustain an ethical organizational culture. Constant communication about the ethical values of the organization to all the employees ensures that all the leaders and employees behavior is aligned with the ethical values. This makes each individual in the company to behave as per the ethical values though there are no written rules for it.

An ethical organizational culture guides the way the employee or executive take decisions in the organizational matters. The ethical values guide an organization to make decision when no one is looking at. Thus, ethical organizational culture fosters a sense of responsibility and commitment and builds staff loyalty so that the reputation and image of the organization is maintained through ethical values. The ethics of the organization helps the management and employees handle situations that are challenging and hence adapt to the dynamic changing environment through ethical means.
