Slang is ever appropriate in the workplace because at the business where a group of persons works, so understanding each other will be more possible if social slang language is used. But the use of slang will be limited to communication only. Only the written matter should be in formal language which is well understandable to all ie. in proper English/Regional language. It will be a loss of time if proper words of the English language are used to communicate. On job one has to be very professional so all the written work and emails should be in proper formal language and no slang should be used. The written emails and documents are not limited to the office and reach out to other places and peoples, so communication should be in proper words. Moreover, the slang is not easy to write than speak, therefore it should not be used for writing purpose at work. One has to be very clear in communication whether it is speaking or writing, so at work place speaking communication could be in slang as understandable by all being local culture language and written should be in formal English language which could be understandable any other person outside or inside the office.
