write a paragraph of eight to 12 sentences in which you tell about a time that you judged someone or a time in which you were judged by what you were wearing.
I would like to share about one of my experience when I was judged for wearing a saree along with the 'bindi' on my forehead.I belonged to a collectivist society where people are more concerned about others than their life. It was an event in my workplace where everyone was asked to wear whatever they want to.Since I have a great love for saree which even suits me, I decided to drape a beautiful, simple and sober saree along with a very light makeup and applied 'bindi' on my forehead.I am unmarried but the other staff or colleagues in my workplace are married. I dressed perfectly in the saree and was looking beautiful for which the other people present complimented me. Since I decided to wear a saree which was considered as a dress to be wore by married people only, all the female colleagues were looking at me in a very surprising manner as if I had done a crime. One of my colleagues bullied me by saying that I think you are highly interested to get married and that's the reason you have applied bindi and wore a saree.By looking at the faces of the colleagues, it was clear that I am being judged by others for draping a saree and applying a bindi which was quite clear with the verbal comments that I have received.I was been stereotyped for wearing saree and excited to get married but in reality it had no connection as deciding to wear a dress(saree) was my personal choice and we were given the freedom to choose whatever dress we want. Since I was aware of the fact that I look good in saree I decided to wear it and not because my passion for getting married.
I don't think that I was looking for a groom in official setting which was opined by other colleagues which shows their stereotypical thinking.
Thus, this is my story of being judged for wearing a particular dress. These incidents in life are related to psychology as they underlie important aspects of people's thinking.
