Describe how you determine if isolation is needed for patient placement
Is disinfectant fogging appropriate for routine purposes in patient-care areas
What is listed as the employer responsibility for Laundry and Bedding
Yes, the patient isolation is needed during disinfectant fogging because CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL as prevention does not allow disinfectant fogging. Do not perform disinfectant fogging on a daily bases in patient care areas or room. Because spraying or fogging of chemicals like Phenol-based agents, formaldehyde, or quaternary ammonium compounds as a way to decontaminated environmental surfaces or disinfect the air in the patient room.
Few reports or research studies suggest that the lack of microbial efficacy, eg., use of quaternary ammonium related disinfectant in mist causes adverse effects on healthcare workers and others in facilities near the surroundings.
even some chemicals are not EPA-registered for use. But some newer technologies fulfill this gap. these include ozone mists, vaporized hydrogen peroxide have fewer side effects. more research is required to clarify the authentic use of flogging (effectiveness and reliability of fogging) UV irradiation, and ozone mist, to minimize or reduce the norovirus environmental contamination. But still unresolved issues are there and these issues will be revisited as additional evidence becomes available.
