If I, as a Counsellor viewed a client that he is being affected by some kinds of mental or psychological disorders and if I feel that he needs some kind of referral for an alternative treatment then I as a counsellor will organise a session of counselling to provide alternative treatment to him, because counselling is a process of helping an individual where personalized assistance is given in which pertinent facts are studied and analysed and a solution is sought often with assistance of specialists. In this Counselling session as a counsellor if I see that in place of traditional medicine alternative treatment will be more beneficial to cure some kind of disorderls ike depressive, mood anxiety then I would prescribe for it because in traditional treatment some times psychotropic medications are used which has certain side effects. The complementary alternative treatment includes psychotherapy, electro convulsion, cognitive behavioral therapy etc. Based on the nature of problem I will choose the therapy. The description for referral treatment includes the following: 1)Explanation of concept of treatment : Here as a counsellor if I am using Psychotherapy process then I will make him understood about it i.e, it is planned and systematic application of psychological facts and theories to the allevation of large variety of human ailments and disturbances particularly of psychogenic in origin. 2) Aim of Treatment Process: Here I will explain what are the goals of Psychotherapy treatment like- to increase clients feeling of self esteem and security, to release pent up feelings, emotions, motives such as anxiety, guilt and hostility, again it increases insight of the client into his psychological difficulties and tries to resoles them. 3)Explanation of Steps :Here client will be explained about the steps of Psychotherapy which includes the followings: a) Establishment Of Rapport Formation:In Psychothrapy rapport formation is the first step which aims at removing the mental symptoms of abnormality. So the aim is to develop self confidence of client so that he can adjust properly to his enviornment. b)Resistance:It is the negative transference of the client. Here the client resists therapeutic movement because of the painful and anxiety provoking experiences which he knows must be ventilated. Here counsellor will also describe the various techniques before using it as interpretation as hypnosis, analysis of dream etc. c)Transference :here client will reexperiences the early feelings he used have.So transference becomes strong that treatment is terminated. d)Insight:This is the most critical stage in the process of psychotherapythat is relaed with restructuring of client's conception about himself and his relationship to the external world. So it will help to develop awreness about the forces within oneself which are important in maintaining emotional health. In conclusion we can say that these are the above mentioned processes or steps which will be described to the client before starting with the process of alternative treatment because it will give him a deep understanding about the procedures and the type of problem he is having within himself. Again based on the type of problem psychotherapy techniques will be selected like Supprttive psychotherapy Re-educative therapy, Hypnothrapy etc.
