how telehealth effects healthcare administration?
Telehealth is the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care,patient and professional health related education,public health and administration and provider to provider collaboration.The veterans health administration introduced a national home telehealth program and the study found out that home telehealth to be cost-effective way of managing chronic care patients in urban and rural care settings.The results showed 23% reduction in numbers of bed days of care ,19% reduction in number of hospital admissions, and mean satisfaction score rating of 86% after being enrolled in this program. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) increase the use of telehealth by fostering partnerships within HRSA,and with other Federal agencies,states and private sector.Administering telehealth grant programs,providing technical assistance,evaluating the use of telehealth technologies,developing telehealth policy initiatives to improve access to quality health services and promoting knowledge exchange about best telehealth practices.
