How would you a description of how you would define fuzzy decision making for healthcare administration practice. Then, explain how you might implement fuzzy decision making to evaluate decisions when uncertainty exists. Provide an example where fuzzy decision making might be important for your work or life, and explain why. Be specific and provide examples.
Fuzzy decision making is the decision process taken based on the set of possible actions taken to reach the goal in the various state of a defined environment. By using fuzzy decision making, the health care cost can be reduced. Fuzzy logic helps to determine the patient's care and patient safety. Allocation of health resources and prioritization of goals are done by fuzzy decision making.
For example, to understand the women risk of breast cancer through Breast Cancer Risk Estimation Tool. The tool consists of a set of questions. But the interpretation has to be done based on the age, individual factors, and the level of accuracy.
Fuzzy decisions are useful as much in uncertainty condition. Sometimes it is also used to calculate the rate of IV fluids. For example, we can calculate by using mean arterial pressure and hourly urine output. The fluid resuscitation should be reduced if mean arterial pressure and urine output are too high, and fluid resuscitation should be increased if both are too low.
Sometimes a computerized programme which determines the things fast in an emergency situation will be helpful to make a fuzzy decision. The gist-based decision means learning from the past is helpful to handle the situation and to balance the work and life. For example, having a protocol to meet the future needs of the patient helps to make the good decision. Including MATHLAB in nursing education can improve the fuzzy decision making.
