Performance management is the process of communication between employers and employees. The goal of performance standards is to ensure that both the employers and employees are on the same page regarding job expectations. The performance standards may be qualitative or quantitative.

Qualitative:

A new qualitative fit test was developed using Bitrex as the test agent. It was validated by running a series of paired qualitative fit tests.Qualitative fit teats were run with Bitrex and saccharin, following the established protocol for the saccharin fit test. Four models of National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health approved replaceable filter respirators were used in the study. All were half mask models equipped with high efficiency filters. In some cases, respirators expected to be the correct size for the test subjects were tested. In other cases, respirators expected to be too small or too large for the subject were tested. Test results were analysed using fit test method validation creteria recommended in the American National Standards Institute draft standards on fit testing. The Britex and saccharin test were found to have virtually identical performance. Boh met proposed American National Standards Institute requirements for a valid qualitative fit test.

Quantitative:

Streamlined quantitative metabolomics in central metabolism of bacteris would be greatly facilitated by a high efficiency liquid chromatography (LC) method in conjuring with accrate quantitation. To achieve this goal, a methodology for LC tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry involving a pentafluorophenylpropyl (PEPP) column and cultured derived global C-labeled internal standards has been been developed ans compared to hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography and published combined two dimentional gas chromatography and LC methods. All 50 tested metabotite standards from 5 classes displaced good chromatographic separation and sensitivity on the PEPP column.Compared to only one C-labeled I.S., the addition of global C-labeled I.Ss, improved quantitative linearity and accuracy. PEPP-MS/MS with global C-labeled I.Ss., allowed the absolute quantitation of 42 metabolite pool sizes in Methylobacterium extorquens AM1 indicated a good consistency with the data obtained. The more acute quantification obtained by this method forms a fundamental basis for flux measurements and can be used for metabolism madeling in bacteria in future studies.
