What was the fear of the United States about both Korea and Vietnam at the end of World War II?
Explanation:
In the immediate aftermath of World War 2 tension between the USA and USSR heightened. There was now a new world order withe emergence of these superpowers mirrored by the decline of Europan empires. An example relevant to this question would be French Indo China.
There are many factors involved. Vacuums opened up as European powers could not hold onto territories. In Asia the early victories of the Japanese over colonial powers encouraged indigenous peoples to fight for their independence.
The USA was concerned that these vacuums would be filled by communist governments and theories and policies such as the Domino Theory and The Truman Doctrine reflected this view of the world.
In both Korea and Vietnam the USA became directly involved in conflict.
