wars are always devastating. wars lead to economic depression therefore world war 1 and world war II was an example of economic devastation , after world war II there was great depression therefore there was no stability in the economy hence monetary system was getting weaker currency required economic stability.there was exchange rate system, world war already exhausted the funds of various nations.
USA initially was not involved directly in the war, until japan attacked pearl harbour, role of USA at that time was to provide arms and imutions.
the entire world was coping with the negative impact of world war, with great depression, unemployability was higher, inflation was creeping badly there was no value of the currency .At that stage every one realised war gives nothing.countries came tother and they had a common goal to reconstruct their economy.
