Purposes of planning in health education * It enables to match resources with problem intended to solve. *It helps to use resources most efficiently leads to reduce scarce resources. *Planning can avoid duplication of activities. *Planning helps in prioritize needs and activities.

Principles of planning in health education. *Plans should be made with the needs and context of community in mind. *Consider the basic needs and interest of particular community whom you are going to give health education. * Planning should made with peoples involved in the implementation of activity (Stakeholders). *Use all resources relevant to particular community . *Flexible planning is needed it help to modify the planning when ever needed. * Don't plan unachievable activities.

Steps involved in planning health education activities 1. Conduct a needs assessment : It is most important to give sufficient time for each needs assessment. Needs are health needs,resources,community resources. To identify needs first we have to know health problem .Hear health problem is Substance abuse. In given situation main need is to reduce substance abuse and provide health assistance to vulnerable population. One of assessment technique useful is data collection and documentation 2.Identified needs should be prioritize. 3.Set goals and objectives. At the end of health education session some of substance abuse population accept rehabilitation ,some people avoid substance which become abuse. 4. Develop a strategy .Based on identified needs and resources we have to plan health education activities by involving stakeholders. Stakeholders are who have interesting on this substance abuse and parties who invest resource for rehabilitation services for substance abuse. 5.Implementation :Conduct activity related to health education along with stakeholders. 6.Monitor and evaluate activity of health education.
