How to apply the transformational model of leadership when faced with a nonperforming employee to the organization?
transformational leadership is a type of leadership style in which leaders motivates, inspire and encourages employees to innovate and contribute changes that will help in the future growth and success of the organization.
when there is an employee who is nonperforming we can apply transformational leadership theory inorder to improve the peroformance of of the employee as well as the growth of the organization. in this leadership model leaders works with a team and identifies the changes that is needed and creats a vision to guide and inspire the employees to achieve the desired goal. this is a leadership model in which the behaviours of the leader influences the employees and inspire them to performe beyond their perceived capabilities.
it gives the employee autonomy and athority to make dicisions once he/she is trained. the leaders typical behaviours in the transitional leadership model are inspirational motivation, idealized influence, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. these are also known as the four I's. transformational leadeship helps the leader to enhances the performance of employees by being a role model to inspire them and raise their interest in the work. the leader should challenge the employyes to take responsibilities of their work and he/she should understand the strength and weakness of employees. this will help the leader to assign tasks to the employees to improve their performance.
in this leadership model the leader will inspire the employees to achieve the desired goals. the leader should set high amd responsible goals for the employees and the organization. the leader will act as a role model for the employees and lead by examples. and also the leader should encourage the employees to think for themselves. these transformational leaders are open to new ideas and they can tolerate the mistakes of the employees and encourage them to improve more. the leaders will establish strong relationship with employees and will find time to improve the performance of the employees.
