1) Describe the consequences of both an excess and insufficient
amount of each hormone below:
Growth Hormone
Antidiuretic Hormone
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone,pituitary/Thyroid Hormone(T4) &
Thiorynine(T3, 10x bioactive)
Parathyroid Hormone
AdrenoCorticoTropinHormone, pituitary; cortico- &
gluco-corticoids, aldosterone
Adrenal medulla, catecholamines
a) Growth harmone: generally the action of growth harmones is to increase protein production, and calcium tetention and mineralisation of bones and muscle mass , if growth harmone is increased then there will be two forms they are acromegaly in adults and gigantism in children, if growth harmone is insufficient causes pituitary dwarfism. b) Antidiuretic harmone:if excess amount of ADH results in syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic harmone secretion, insufficient amount of ADH results in diabetes insipidus. c)1) thyroid stimulating harmone: excess results in primary hypothyroidism and insufficent indicates secondary or tertiary hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.2)thiorynine T3:excess results in Graves, acute thyroiditis and insufficient results in myxedema, cretinism, hypotha;amic failure, iodine insufficiency, 3) thyroid harmoneT4 excess results in primary hyperthyroid states and acute thyroiditis and insufficient results in pituitary insufficiency and iodine insufficient. 4) parathyroid harmone:excess secretion results in increased calcium absorption from bones kidney and intestines thereby increasing blood calcium, and insufficient production results in tetany, d)1) aderno corticotropin harmone, pituitary :cortico and glucocorticoids excess results in cushing syndrome and insufficient results in addisons disease.2) aldosterone:excess production results in the hypokalemia and alkalosis, insufficient results in low sodium and high potassium. 3) catecholamines insuffiecency results in catecholamine dump and excess results in pusedopheochromocytoma.
