Answer:
Endocrine system affected by head injury:
Endocrine system consist of glands that secretes hormones. The hormones are biochemicals that plays major role in growth and development of body, sexual function etc. The endocrine system get affected by head injury. Due to the head injury the Hypothalamus and Pituitary gland get affected. Hypothalamus is a part of brain which is used to control the release of hormone. And Pituitary gland is the master gland that control all the glands.
If the Hypothalamus and Pituitary gland get affected that damages the entire endocrine system.
Endocrine regulation of blood glucose:
Hormones involved: Insulin and glucagon are hormones involved in the blood glucose regulation.
Orgin of the hormones: The insulin and glucagon are orginates from the beta cells of pancreas.
Target organs: The target organ of both insulin and glucagon is liver.
Process:
Blood glucose is regulated by endocrine system. The organ involved in the blood glucose regulation are liver and pancreas. The pancreas is a mixed gland it has the feature of both endocrine and exocrine gland. If the blood glucose level get increased the beta cells of pancreas secretes hormone called insulin and this hormone stimulates made the glucose to enter into liver. And if the blood glucose level get decreased the glucagon is the hormone secreted by pancreas and it made the liver to release the blood glucose into the blood stream to increase the glucose level. This is how the endocrine system regulates blood glucose level.
