Answer: The natural History of disease includes the development of disease in an individual person without the medical intervention. The three levels of prevention methods that could be include in this are primary prevent, secondary prevention and tertiary prevention. In the case of the primary prevention level, it is important to prevent one self from exposure to the infection. It means adopting healthy lifestyle, having vaccination to prevent disease etc. It means to prevent the onset of the disease.
The secondary prevention includes stopping the infection or disease at the certain level with the help of treatment and changing lifestyle. The tertiary prevention involves the treatment and rehabilitation of a person who has already infected or suffering from disease.
If the disease could be screen at early stage, it can not reach to the tertiary level as proper care and treat may reduce the risk of the disease. Hence, lifestyle change and proper treatment could cure the disease.
For example, In the case of the HIV disease. The disease is already communicable before it's onset of the symptoms. So, at primary prevention, it could be avoid to have sexual contact with the person having any kind of symptoms such as unusual discharge, infection in genitals etc. The secondary prevention could be by providing better treatment and reducing the symptoms. The tertiary prevention includes the rehabilitation of the infected person, so that others may not be at risk of disease development. This could provide treatment and care to reduce the symptoms.
