ANS- PRIMARY CONVENTION- The efforts are directed towards a specific group of a community. It focuses on the environment or on an individual. For example- Programs on the job training, programs on remedial education, all these programs are for the disadvantaged community, so it is a service that impacts the whole community that may be seen as a risk. On the basis of developmental status, specific programs are developed and these programs are made to be helpful. For example- Clinics for babies, efforts given on retirement counseling, etc. In these types of cases, no specific patients are identified and no symptoms have been developed yet. Some programs are made for children who are alcoholics, for the people who are the victim of any natural disaster. Primary Convention programs reduce emotional stress and it also enhances the functioning of well- functioning individuals.
SECONDARY PREVENTION- It targets the potentially damaged disorder of early stages and they are at high risk as like primary convention and signs of difficulty are there already. For example- Suicide hotline. Counseling is given to preadolescents in school for some behavioral problems.
TERTIARY PREVENTION- Prevention under the adopted nomenclatures. This program takes place with modalities and orientations. Couple problems, group therapies are included in this program.
