Ans . The nurse should educate the patient and her family in their local language about the pregnancy plan of care. . She should tell them when is the expected date of delivery. Explain patient and her family properly whatever is written on doctor's prescription, importance of ante natal tests , timings of medication and how to consume , need for regular follow ups etc.  According to trimester explain her the dietary needs and other things to be taken care of.  Tell her the need of ultrasound, different levels of ultrasound, precautions to be taken during pregnancy such as avoid heavy lifting, avoid sexual relation in first trimester. Exlain her that she doesn't need to eat for two. She need to take extra 300 kcal after the first trimester is over. Explain her about the needs of supplements for healthy pregnancy. . During the first trimester there is extra need of folic acid and extra need for iron and calcium during second and third trimester. Ask her avoid skipping meals, importance of rest,sleep and proper diet.Avoid stress during pregnancy.
