RESEARCH
Research is the process of solving problems and finding facts in an organised way.
Research is done by applying what is kniwn and building on it. Additional knowledge can be discovered by proving existing theory's and by trying to better explain observations.
Evidence based research
Evidence based research means the informations used to make decisions about the patient care is based on sound research, not opinion. This means must search several sources like published articles in medical journals or in electric form for data, results and conclusions of valid, reputable studies. Its important because its aims to provide the most effective that is available, with the aim of improving patient outcomes.
Patient expect to receive the most effective care based on the best available evidence.
steps of evidence based practise
It includes 5 A cycles, .
1.Asking a focused clinical question
2.Acquring the evidence to answer the question
3.Appraising the research
4.Applying the research findings to patient care
5.Auditing your performance.
