How does nonverbal communication such as : common ground, feedback, gestures, play a role in language production?
The non-verbal communications such as the common ground, feedback, gestures, play an important role in the evolution of language by developing the linguistic and reasoning skills. Gestures help in the development of the ability to communicate symbolically to convey the expression of thoughts. The feedback and common ground help to organize and express the concepts of a person in the form a language due to reasoning. As the language proceeds from the non-verbal to verbal communication, it becomes more and more complex with the use of the large pool of vocabulary due to the activation of neurons in the speech area of the brain.
