Expert Solution

This statement is true.

Recombinant DNA technology is a type of modern biotechnology in which DNA is combined from two different species to generate new proteins of medical importance. It is an important development in science, which makes easier life of human . It has advanced plans for biomedical applications such as cancer treatment, genetic diseases, diabetes, and several plants disorders. The recombinant DNA technology also help in cleaning surroundings and improved resistance of plants to different adverse factors such as drought, pests, and salt has been recognized widely. Recombinant DNA molecules can be made of material from two different species. Proteins that can result from the expression of recombinant DNA within living cells are known as recombinant proteins. When recombinant DNA encodes a protein, which is initiated into a host organism. Wide range of recombinant proteins have been communicated in different plant species, which is used as enzymes in industries, some majorly used proteins in research are proteins present in milk which play a role in nutrition, and new polymeric proteins are used in industries and medical field.

Combined heat and power (CHP) is a technology that simultaneously produces electricity and heat from a single fuel source. Here we consider a CHP system that consumes 72 GJ of coal per hour, while producing 6000kWh electricity and 32.4 GJ of heat. Assume that coal has a heating value of 25 MJ=kg. (a) Using energy-based allocation, determine the carbon dioxide emission per kWh for this CHP system. (b) How does it compare with a coal-fired power plant that produces electricity...
