Why are recombinant DNA technology and nucleus transplantation technology still dangerous?
Answer) This is the question of "Biosafety and ethics of recombinant DNA technology. Yes, these rDNA technologies are potentially dangerous.
These technologies are equally dangerous for nature as well as Humans too. recombinant DNA and nuclear transplantation can be "potentially misused" in the form of bio-weapons against the humanity as it provides a very quick way to produce organisms with altered or new characteristics. say, for example, if genes for neurotoxin is inserted in the Human gut microbes and release such microbe in the environment.
another potential danger is to nature, such that humans create microbes or organisms by changing their genes/genomic content or DNA. it gives rise to artificial evolution for those related species. after an outbreak, such species may out-compete with the natural species. it would disturb the natural balance. in short, these technologies are dangerous as it provides a manmade/artificial method to give rise to new genes and genetic variants and even species or new organisms. it reflects threats as the human control over the process of evolution and natural evolution.
