How the current Electronic health record (EHR) system is used for remote patient monitoring process to enhance or detract from team collaboration during workflow?
Electronic Health Record System helps the family physician to connect with the specialist and other team members collaborating with the client thereby it helps in reducing the waiting period through flexibility in accessing the health care system digitally. Therefore, it is quick and effective while considering the conventional method of consultation. Patient engagement is vital as part of team collaboration in electronic health system platform. Virtual Consultants are able to assess, evaluate and encourage the client in long term management of their own health. Health system software enables easy accessibility and navigation of health care data through the server considering all confidentiality protocols. Likely to all other technological advancements some of the disadvantages in collaborating electronic health system management are the resistance to the change management in the work, and reluctance in learning new skills and technologies, computer illiteracy etc. makes difficult management of the system or changes. The aforementioned reasons make it difficult to manage the digital health care system and team collaboration in the workforce. (McCarthy, J. 2016)
Through electronic health care system doctors, specialists and other virtual assistants able to assess, monitor and evaluate the clients through extensive patient engagement and team collaboration. Moreover, EHS helps to get the result quickly than the conventional method and helps to collaborate with the pharmacy through paging or fax system methods and enable patient and the doctors to access the health records easily (Canada Health Infoway, 2020).
