Claim management is associated with insurance application and claiming sum insured for their care. The program used for the claim is called as PMP practice management program. This program helps in recording patients’ payments & prints receipts, processes the financial transactions from patients' appointments, admission, and discharge, calculates charges for hospital visits. The software also helps in the collection of information from various databases & create a claim file. The monitoring of claims is necessary to ensure prompt payment of claims. Electronic application has reduced the paper application. The use of computer & handheld devices to transmit prescriptions to pharmacies in digital format is called Electronic health records (EHR). According to HIPPA guidelines the insurance claim is made by using Medisoft PMP program. The Medisoft provides a claim management dialog box with which the patient can apply his claims easily. The claim management dialog box consist of transaction dates, chart numbers, primary insurance (policy details), billing codes, case details, location, assigned physician and amount of charges. Once claims are created, they are listed in the claim Management dialog box, with a status of ready to send. Medisoft software selects only those claims that meet specified criteria, such as: Chart Number, claim created, insurance carrier, EDI receiver, billing method, billing date, batch number, claims status. It also provides options to edit the claims making medical claims easy for all. After filling the claims, the submission of claim will be processed easily and without hazel the amount is reimbursed or either credited to the provider.
