Expert Solution

Immune privilage is a term used to describe the privilage that certain sites of human body have towards immune responses. Our body normally have some immune responses to protect us from infections and diseases when a foreign substance is detected.Due to immune response, inflammation occurs and temperature rises. But some areas of our body has limited immune responses compared to other parts. These parts are eyes, central Nervous System, testicles, placenta and fetus. This immune privilage is because no harm is made due to inflammatory responses. For example inflammation in eyes or brain can lead to loss of functioning of that organ. So the immunologically privilaged areas like eyes and CNS have a limited immune response compared to the other body parts. This privilage helps in many researches because the implants in these areas like stem cells are less likely to be rejected by the body than the other parts of body.
