There are no signs of democracy evolving in the Middle Eastern region, in my view. Earlier, we had seen Arab spring where there were civil protests demanding for democracy but it did not turn into any positive consequences as the ongoing regimes tried to stop all these protests with use of army, so after a time there was no more protests and we are seeing continuity of monarchy in the Middle Eastern region. There is not even one country where we can see the establishment of democratic government. All countries are still running under the same old monarchy system where we are seeing violation of human rights every day but people are showing unwillingness to go against the current regimes once again.
However, post Arab spring, we are seeing the ongoing governments more concerned about their locals because there are afraid of any future revolt from them. This resulted in higher employment opportunities for the locals through employment programs such as Saudisation and Qatarisation so that locals can be happier through more income and jobs.
Even the governments started providing unemployment benefits to pacify local population so that they can show their loyalty to ongoing regimes. There was threat in the past two to three years that the people can come again against the monarchy system when the governments cut subsidies on fuel and other charges due to low oil prices, but the situation is under control helped by recovery in oil prices which is main and biggest revenue source of Middle Eastern Region.
