Sex linked genetic disease;
Hemophilia is a sex linked genetic disease in which blood is unable to clot normally.So when there is a injury there is excessive bleeding and severe loss of blood.
It is an inherited condition.
In normal individual when there is injury , platelets adhere to the place of injury and clotting factors also there form clot and prevent the loss of blood
Whereas in hemophilia individual ,he doesn't have enough clotting factors that are needed for formation of clot.so there is excessive bleeding.
Hemophilia is of two types
Hemophilia-A - it is due to absence of clotting factor VIII and
Hemophilia -B- it is due to absence of clotting factor IX.
