1. The late adulthood is a stage of life of 60 yrs. and onwards. This is mainly the last stage of physical changes. The summarisation of growth and development in late adulthood are =
- The skin continued to lose its integrity and elasticity.
- the reaction time is slower,
- the immunity weakened and diseases attack the body easily.
- the memory loss occurs as the brain cells starts to deteriorate.
- a sense of integrity, satisfaction with life, a feelings of completeness arises in there mind.
2. The advanced old-age refers to the age 65 + or 65 yrs. and more. So various physical and psychological changes occurs in this stage of life. Summarisation of growth and development in advanced old-age and geriatrics =
- in this stage the person becomes more weaker.
- they loss the fine motor movements and gross motor abilities are also demonised.
- various chronic diseases like as cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, pulmonary, endocrine diseases occurs in this stage.
- person physically and emotionally becomes dependent to others.
3. End life care for the patient =
- Direct nursing care has to provide in various cases likes as proper administration of prescribed medication, daliy personal hygiene maintaining, nutritional management etc.
- the nurse has to meet physical needs and management of the symptoms.
-nthe physical reassurance has to provide.
- the family members has to involve in the care of the patient.
- make the patient to feel happy and comfortable.
- answer all the questions and queries ask by the patient about his/her health as possible.
- maintain hope for living in patients mind.
4. There are 5 stages of loss or grief. They are described below -
- in first stage when they comes to know about the loss or confirmed loss they become shock and denied. It is a coping mechanism.
- then they become angry with the whole setuation. The anger is the way of expression of emotion.
- in the next stage they starts bargaining. This occurs when they feel helpless and vulnerable. They want someone to stop the incident .
- In next stage they become depressed mentally. As the loss or death can not be stoped.
- In last stage they accept the setuation. It means they can understand the whole things that happens.
