Assertive communication is a way of expressing yourself honestly.Assertive communication is referred to as the ability of a person to express his ideas clearly to anyone without considering it is positive or negative.Use of 'I' statement is the major characteristics of assertive communication process.In this process person who communicates with other deliver messages clearly and honestly with self confidence.So person will be respectful to self and others.All of us sometimes use assertive communication.

Assertive communication is not acceptable always.Assertive communication allows us to take responsibility for ourselves without blaming others.Because others may not encourage this style of communication in every situation.Use of assertive communication style is acceptable in some cases only.So everyone should use this style based on the situation.Assertive communication may lead to aggressive communcation.Don't get assertive in extreme situations.It may reflect overconfidence.So be assertive without being aggressive.
