HYPOTHYROIDISM
Hypothyroidism is the condition in which the thyroid gland is not producing adequate amount of thyroid hormones.
Causes
1) Pitutory gland failure
Pitutory gland is the gland the gland which is secreating the thyroid stimulating hormone. So if there is no adequate funtioning of the pitutory gland will lead to inadequate production of the thyroid hormone.
2) Auto immune
Auto immune diseases are the diseases which affect the immune system and producing some antibodes. These antibodies can attack the own tissues in the body. So if this process is happening in the thyroid gland will lead to the decrease production of the thyroid hormon.
Eg:Hashimoto's thyroiditis
HYPERTHYROIDISM
It is a medical condition due to an excessive production of the thyroid hormone by the thyroid gland.
Causes
1) Over dose of thyroid medications
There are some medications which takes when the person is suffering with hypothyroidism. Inorder to treat it the person will be prescribed to take the medications which increases the production of the thyroid hormone by stimulating te thyroid gland. The over dose of these medications will lead to excessive stimulation of the thyroid gland ad hyperthyroidism.
2) Grave's disease
It is an auto immune disease which will attack the thyroid gland and cause an increase production of the thyroid hormaon will llead to hyperthyroidism.
