The role of the CNO in relation to senior leadership includes;

Ensures that; the best practices when handling patients are upheld

Maintaining of the high standards that other staff members should follow

Establishment of a conducive environment by developing strategies that are aimed at creating collaboration so that other nurses may follow

Serve as a spokesperson, representative or trainer at seminars and medical conferences

Review the certifications of other nurses for making sure that they comply with the existing professional regulations in the industry.

As a CNO in a group meeting, I would facilitate the group to meet the organizational mission and vision statement by clearly explaining the mission statement i.e. the values, and philosophy and creating a road map of how to achieve it i.e. setting achievable targets and milestones in the roadmap.

One stakeholder that needs to be considered in meeting the organizational mission and vision statement is the end-user i.e. the client i.e. the patient.
