The cold war can be defined as a war where no actual fighting took place between the USA and RUSSIA.America was almost affected in every field by the cold war.Post world war second, there were only two dominant forces in the world,AMERICA and SOVIET UNION. EUROPE was devastated to the extent that there were no supplies for the harsh winter ahead and america cashed this opportunity and found a suitable market for it's goods, which EUROPE till this day is.America also wanted to contain the spread of communism which it perceived as a threat to it's way of life(capitalism) and that's why millions of dollars were sent to revive the industries of Europe.Back home,the threat of Communism forced the congress to spend millions and millions of dollars on Education,Healthcare and Infrastructure of Americans.The idea of make a dollar and spend a dollar came to be seen as a viable option.Americans have to thank cold war,for the advancements in Computer technology, space exploration etc in their nation.Cold war gave a new lease of life to americans because on one side the congress had to counter the SOVIET ideology and also to give a viable alternative so that americans don't see Communism as a way of life.
