A friend of yours says that she has found a lump in her breast. List steps that she would take from initial types of diagnostic testing to surgery to treatment for stage 3 breast cancer. What types of complementary medicine or dietary and lifestyle changes can she make to improve her chances of beating this cancer.
Tests and procedures used to diagnose breast cancer include :
1.breast exam: doctor will check both of your breasts and lymph nodes in our armpit, feeling for any lumps or other abnormalities.
2.mammogram : a mammogram is an xray of the breast.
3.breast ultraspund:ultrasound may be used to determine whether a new lump is a solid mass or fluid filled cyst
4.Removing a sample of breast cells for testing (biopsy) : A biopsy is the oy definitive way to make a diagnosis of breast cancer.
Breast magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) : AN MRI machine uses a magnet and radio waves to create pictures of the interior of our breast.
Once your doctor has diagnosed our breast cancer, she works to establish the extent of cancer.
Complete information about the cancer's stage may not be available until after you undergo breast cancer surgery.
Test and procedures may include

* mammogram of the other breast to look for signs of cancer.

* CT scan
* Positron emission tomography.
No alternative medicine treatment have been found to cure breast cancer. But complementary and alternative therapies may help you cope with side effects of treatment when combined with doctors care.

Dietary :
* Fruits, vegetables and whole grains
* cancer fighting phytochemicals by food
* fat intake recommendations - limit intake of saturated foods, decreased food containing trans fatty acids
*increase intake of poultry, fish and vegetarian proteins
*. Maintain healthy body weight.
Food rich in vitamin D
* food that contain antioxidant, spice and anti-inflammatory properties
* avoid red meat
* green tea
