Human trafficking is more common than you may think, and as healthcare providers, we will want to be aware of the signs and know how to respond when we believe someone is being held against their will. Signs to look:

  1. Person under18 years of any race, gender or socioeconomic status not being provided with basic needs like food , water ,shelter and time to sleep.
  2. A minor person not going school
  3. A minor seems dull, afraid, tensed, anxious and not talking
  4. When somebody forcing someone not to talk or answer anyone.
  5. When someone forces other to work or do the chores
  6. keeping someone alone without allowing to mingle with friends and community.
  7. The person seems answering like taught before.
  8. The person without their documents for identification
  9. The person not having access to dress and other personal belongings
  10. By threatening a person that he/ she may be handed over to police if they donot do what was ordered to do.

Victims of human trafficking are mostly children under 18 years and any one belonging to any age ,sex, ethinicity .

Low socioeconomic background people always get affected.

Children in foster homes, people migrating from other countries, mentally unstable peoples.

The things to know are how to contact the police about human trafficking issues, how to help a victim recovering from the human trafficking .
