Servant Leadership - List one organizational situation when this style will be Inappropriate/destructive?
Servant leadership refers to the leadership style in which the major goal of the leader is to serve. The qualities required for servant leadership are empathy, listening skills, awareness, healing, foresight, persuasion and stewardship etc. In this leadership, the leadership understands her role as a servant & the focus is on others, rather than self.
The situation where the servant leadership style will not give required results is when the time to show performance is less. The leadership style takes time to be fully effective. This is because this leadership style is buildt upon the trustworthy relationships, employee self belonging and building of teams which take time to build in an organization.
Another situation, where such a style will not fit well is the organization where military kind of setting is applied. This means, in the organizations where rank, structure and organizational discipline is highly prevalent.
