Metabolic syndrome is a group of disease which involves hypertension, diabetes mellitus, central obesity and high cholestrol levels.

The diet involved in metabolic syndrome involves, low calorie, high fiber diet, one should avoid all the processed food and preservatives, and should be habituated with natural foods, the patient should also restrict their diet when it comes to fast food as it invoves high cholestrol and fats.

Treatment usually involves symptomatic treatments for example if a patient has high blood sugar one will be adviced to take insulin or oral tablets such as glycomet, likewise In order to control high blood sugar anti hypertensive is adviced.

Exercise is very important in case of metabolic syndrome, however in case of high blood sugar the patient need to consult a doctor, otherwise a brisk walk is enough for hypertensive patient. In othet cases such as diabetes mellitus and obesity the patient need to exercise as it improves cholestrol levels and insulin resistance.
