Discuss social class as a cause of school failure. Do you agree or disagree with this theory?
I agree with this theory because one’s social class would throw open the doors of opportunity to education, employment and political power. People in upper social class would be able to use their wealth and influence in getting better education as all their basic needs would be met and they would also have more economic support to pursue their education. Lower class people on the other hand, would struggle hard to make both the ends meet, thus wouldn’t be able to focus on their education. Their primary focus would be to fight their hunger and fulfil their safety needs which would deviate from them from focusing on their education. Most of them would also take bank loans to pursue their education and they would also work part time to repay the loans which would force them to spend less time on studying effectively. They would also be forced to engage in crimes, drugs and lead an unhealthy life.
