To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement that the creation of an organisational structure is the perfect way to bring about harmony in the utilisation of resources in an organisation’’
Subject: Organisational Behavior & Management
I do agree to the fact that the creation of an organisational structure is required to bring about harmony in the utilisation of resources in an organisation, however, I would not call it ‘perfect’ and would in fact like to add that it is not without certain limitations. Having a structure in place allows the maintenance of a degree of uniformity in the contributions made by the employees in terms of their work output. However it is a ‘one size fits all’ concept, implying that there would always be certain exceptions. For many employees, rigid structures are counterproductive and even limit their innovation. In addition, simply having a structure set into place by no means ensures productivity, thereby undermining the optimal use of resources. Thus, there are other several factors as well such as employee motivation and satisfaction that play a decisive role utilisation of resources in an organisation.
